OR OPTION 3: Prescriptive Compliance Path: Advanced Buildings™ Core Performance™ Guide (1–3 points) A) According to the guidelines stated in the New Buildings Institute’s Advanced Buildings™ Core Performance™ Guide in the Advanced Buildings, the building must: A)Be less than 100,000 sq. ft. B) Adhere to Section 1: Design Process Strategies and Section 2: Core Performance Requirements. C) Exclude healthcare, warehouse, or laboratory projects.

Points are achieved under Option 3 as follows: A) One point is available for all office, school, public, and retail projects less than 100,000 sq. ft. and in adherence to Sections 1 and 2 of the Core Performance Guide. B) Projects using performance strategies listed in Section 3: Enhanced Performance may award up to two additional points. A point is awarded for every three strategies used in this section. C) Ineligible strategies under EA Credit 1 include: a) 3.1 — Cool Roofs, b) 3.8 — Night Venting, c) 3.13 — Additional Commissioning
