Requirements

Recycled content is determined by weight generally.  The recycled fraction of the products is then multiplied by the total cost of the product to determine the recycled content. (10% based on cost).

Recycled Content Value = Material cost x (post-consumer % by weight + ½ pre-consumer content by weight)

Example– 10% of product by weight has recycled content, therefore .10 x cost of total product ($100) = $10.00 or recycled content value.
