Requirements II
OPTION 2: -Ban smoking indoors and within 25 feet of entryways, outdoor air intakes and operable windows, unless designated smoking areas designed to filter ETS are available. These areas must:
–Be exhausted to the outdoors;
–Be enclosed with impermeable deck-to-deck partitions.
–Avoid recirculation to nonsmoking areas.
-Operate negative pressure exhaust differential with the surrounding spaces of at least an average of 5 Pascals (Pa) (0.02 inches of water gauge) and a minimum of 1 Pa (0.004 inches of water gauge) when smoking room doors are sealed.
-Analyze the smoking rooms’ performances with one measurement every 10 seconds for 15 minutes, testing each space configured for worst-case ETS conditions to adjacent areas when smoking rooms’ doors are sealed.
